Come and See!

Hello all,

I skipped a couple of challenges in terms of posting here, but this week's (P)Inspirational Challenge has me back firing on all cylinders ;)

This is our challenge picture:

And this is my project! This is our little one, finding a sweet treat in her shoe from Sinterklaas (a Dutch tradition similar to Santa) last year.

A lot more colour than in the picture, but what I took from it is the book background, hearts, red and metallic. I sanded a piece of silver metallic card to make it look aged and used it to mat my pictures. A lot of scraps, bits and pieces used up; very satisfying! I will journal in white on the stars paper, but didn't manage to do it al in time. Hope you like it and are inspired to join us; as usual you have two weeks to play!

Challenges:

* Deep Ocean Challenges (Inspired by a Song/Movie) The song that inspired me was "O kom er eens kijken", a Dutch Sinterklaas song (I used it as a title)
* Try it on Tuesdays (Home Sweet Home) Pictures are taken at home, of a family tradition
* Unicorn Challenges (Anything Goes)
* Shopping our Stash (Autumn Colour Palette
* Get Creative Challenges (Holidays) Pictures are taken at the holiday of Sinterklaas

Measuring Up

Hello everyone,

Home with a stomach flu today, so I'd better make this short. A new challenge picture is up for (P)Inspirational Challenges:

I loved the patchwork woodgrain paper, thought this was an ideal time to actually cut into it!

Time Flying Past

Hello all,

You wonder what happened to my Tuesday (P)Inspirational Post? Yeah, me too, seems time has played tricks on me and make me forget things. Currently in beautiful Padua, Italy, attending a work conference and with all the preparations and flights totally forgot about my post! Well, better late than never, eh?

So, without further ado, the inspirational pic for the coming two (well, 1.5 now) weeks is:

Lovely colours, flowers, dots. stripes, a lot of potential here! This is my take:

I have had the background paper in my stash for quite some time and really wanted to finally use it forever but wanted to do it 'justice'. So pretty! So to showcase it, I used the full sheet as my starting point. I love the outcome and so another beautiful paper finally goes into my album! This LO is about me turning 40, the photo was taken on my birthday too.

* Sparkles Challenge (Birthday) 14/9

Sleep Evolution

Good morning all!

Another fortnight gone, another (P)Inspirational Challenge! This is our challenge image this time:

Awww, how sweet! I was inspired by the 3 sleeping beauties and the colour scheme and decided to scrap three pictures of our girl to show her sleeping 'progress' over time. She started out taking her naps in the living room, but it turned out it was too noisy for her and she preferred to sleep upstairs in her cot. After six months the graduated to her own bedroom and bed. She has always been a very good sleeper, naps are important to keep her a happy girl, even now.

Water Ballet

Good morning!

Well, my vacation is officially over, I've been back at work for over a week already! We had a great time, mostly spent at home playing in our new garden with the little lass, great times!

However, time goes on and it's time for another (P)inspirational Challenge. Here is our inspirational picture this time:

I wanted to scrap some pictures from our anniversary trip this year, so I didn't go with the literal interpretation of ice creams. Instead, I used the colour scheme as a starting point. I also mixed in some gold, which I surprised myself with as I find it difficult to use metallic elements on my scrapbook pages.

It would be fun if you could play along with our challenge this fortnight, there is a prize for the random winner as well! This time it's Lemon Shortbread and Imagine That! Digistamps, so plenty of reasons to upload your projects!

Challenges:
* Little C's Creations (The Colour Purple)
* Cards & More (Dots, Dots, Dots)
* C.R.A.F.T. Challenge (Summer)
* 2 Sisters on the Blog (Anything Goes)

Bike Routine

Hello everyone,

I'm thoroughly enjoying my vacation at home, getting lots of crafting and film watching in! So far we've seen Wonder Woman and Spiderman Homecoming in the cinema, both of which were great, and some films at home too. During the home films, I was crafting up a storm, including the LO for this week's challenge @ (P)Inspirational Challenges. We are using this inspirational picture this fortnight:

I bet you expect a wintery layout, yes? Actually, I went a different route, here's my make:

I started with the tree paper, which is admittedly part of a Christmas paper line. However, the paper made me think of our recent biking trips in the woods near our house, so I decided to keep the red and green colour scheme but use summery pictures instead.

From the picture, I took the colour scheme, trees, transport and the circles in the background (they reminded me a little bit of snow). What do you think, too Christmassy? I think I pulled it off!

It would be great if you could join in the fun and play along with our challenge, you have two weeks to add your project! Sponsors this week are ALL DRESSED UP and ELISABETH BELL DESIGNS, both offering digital images for the winners.

Challenges:
* Challenge Yourself (Handwritten Journaling)
* Lasting Memories (Outdoor Adventures)
* Make My Monday (Travel or Vacation)
* Come and Get It (Use 2 or more Designer Papers)
* Your Scrapbook Place (Summer Fun)

Look out, Dinos!

Hello all,

Finally, my holiday has begun! Three weeks of (mostly) work-free time to spend as we wish! I bet there's going to be a couple of crafting sessions, some cinema trips and family visits and some great days out with husband and daughter.

Talking about great days out, in the beginning of June we went to the zoo for the first time with our girl. She loved the dinosaur park and often asks to see those particular photos, so she can point them out and call out: DINOS! Somehow our inspirational picture reminded me of that trip:

Lovely woodgrain, pastel colours, the I Love You sign (that's how I selected the PL card on the left); all elements I used in my page:

What do you think; did I do the inspiration justice? I really like how it came out and got to cut into some very old papers in the process (2012). Is my funk a think of the past? Probably not, but creating this page has really helped me get back in the groove. Of course you can take a completely different route by working on a wedding project or something even completely different from all these suggestions. Just link up and let us know how the picture inspired you!

Challenges:
* Lasting Memories (Outdoor Adventures
* Connie Can Crop (Use Your Stash)
* Crafty Animals (AG with Animals)
* Classic Design Team Challenge (AG)
* A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge (AG)
